Oct 24 -Greenland Creek Falls and Holly Falls
Greenland Creek Falls -- Easy
Holly Falls -- Moderate
(Details)
It's an easy hike to Greenland Creek Falls and back. Those who want to can go further, to
Holly Falls. This part of the hike is moderately difficult. (Since I'll be going on to Holly Falls,
those who want to only hike to Greenland Creek Falls will return to the cars on their own.)
Oct 17 - Black Rock
Moderate. (Details)
There is a great view of Panthertown Valley from this rocky outcropping looking across to
Little Green and Big Green mountain. In mid-October the fall color should be near its peak,
offering a gorgeous panorama. Bing a snack; those who want to can eat lunch in Cashiers
or Sapphire.
Oct 10 - John Rock
Moderate.
Hike along the Davidson River, then begin the climb up John Rock. At the summit the view
is dramatic and takes in Looking Glass Rock, Pilot Mountain and the fish hatchery.
