July 4 -  Courthouse Falls
Moderate   (Details)
The first part of this trail is a little steep as you hike over Big Fork Ridge, but just take it
slowly if you want to and once you start down the other side the rest of the hike is a
breeze. (As a point of reference, it's not as steep as Little Green in Panthertown Valley.)
All in all it's a beautiful walk through a lush forest and near the end there is a short side
trail to one of the most picturesque waterfalls in the area.
July 11 - Graveyard Fields
Easy. (Details)
Hike to a completely different world along the Blue Ridge Parkway.  A devastating fire in
1925 cleared the canopy and left stumps that resembles tombstones.  The hike offers
fantastic views and two waterfalls.
July 18 - Sam Knob
Easy. (Details)
There's a 360-degree view of the Pisgah National Forest from the summit Sam Knob.
This is a gentle hike.  If the group wants to we can include a side trip to the Devil's
Courthouse on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
July 25 - Berry picking
Easy to moderate
The blueberries ripen around the end of July and we'll decide on where to go
depending on where the berries are ripe.
Little Green is a good possibility. Bring empty
milk jugs for berries and a picnic to enjoy along the way. Check back a few days before
the hike for details.
